Your Money is Protected

AfreeKart uses smart contract escrow to protect your purchases. Your funds are held securely until you confirm receipt of your item, giving you peace of mind with every transaction.

3-Day Buyer Protection Period

After your order is marked as delivered, you have 3 full days to:

  • Inspect the item and verify it matches the listing
  • Test the item to ensure it works as described
  • Confirm receipt to release funds to the seller
  • Open a dispute if there are any issues

If you don't take any action within 3 days, funds are automatically released to the seller.

When You Can Get a Refund

  • Item not as described: The item you received differs significantly from the listing
  • Item damaged in transit: The item arrived broken or damaged
  • Wrong item received: You received a different item than what you ordered
  • Item not received: The order was never delivered
  • Seller didn't ship: The seller failed to ship within 3 days
  • Counterfeit item: The item is fake or counterfeit

When Refunds Are Not Available

  • Buyer's remorse: You changed your mind about the purchase
  • Minor discrepancies: Small differences that don't affect functionality
  • After 3-day period: The protection period has expired and funds were released
  • Item damaged by buyer: Damage occurred after delivery
  • Receipt confirmed: You already confirmed receipt of the item

How to Request a Refund

Go to Your Orders

Navigate to Dashboard > Orders and find the order

Open a Dispute

Click "Open Dispute" and select a reason

Provide Evidence

Upload photos or videos showing the issue

Wait for Review

Our team will review within 24-48 hours

Receive Refund

If approved, funds are returned to your wallet

What Gets Refunded?

When a refund is approved, you receive:

  • Full item price: The amount you paid for the item (minus commission already taken)
  • Note on shipping: Shipping fees are sent to the courier treasury at checkout and are typically non-refundable, unless the seller failed to ship

Order Cancellation

Orders can be cancelled under certain conditions:

Before Shipping

  • Buyer or seller can cancel
  • Full item amount refunded
  • No penalties

After 3 Days (Unshipped)

  • Admin can cancel automatically
  • Full item amount refunded to buyer
  • Seller may receive warning

Refund Timeline

Once a refund is approved:

  • Smart contract release: Immediate (within the same blockchain transaction)
  • Funds in your wallet: Usually within 1-2 minutes
  • Confirmation notification: Sent via WhatsApp/SMS/Email
