AfreeKart is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects buyers and sellers across Nigeria. By using our platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using AfreeKart, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.
2. User Accounts
- You must connect a valid cryptocurrency wallet to use AfreeKart
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your wallet
- You must be at least 18 years old to use this platform
- You agree to provide accurate information when creating listings or orders
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
3. Escrow Protection
All transactions on AfreeKart are protected by our smart contract escrow system:
- Funds are held securely in escrow until delivery is confirmed
- Buyers have a 3-day protection period after delivery
- Funds are automatically released to sellers after the 3-day period
- Disputes can be opened during the protection period
4. Seller Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and honest descriptions of items
- Ship items within 3 days of order placement
- Use appropriate packaging to protect items during transit
- Provide valid tracking information when shipping
- Record a packing video as evidence of item condition
- Respond to disputes in a timely manner
5. Buyer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate delivery address information
- Be available to receive deliveries
- Inspect items upon receipt
- Confirm receipt or open dispute within the 3-day protection period
- Provide honest feedback and reviews
6. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited on AfreeKart:
- Illegal drugs and controlled substances
- Weapons and ammunition
- Counterfeit or stolen goods
- Hazardous materials
- Adult content or services
- Items that infringe intellectual property rights
- Live animals
- Human remains or body parts
7. Fees and Commissions
AfreeKart charges a commission on successful sales. Commission rates vary by category and seller verification tier:
- Bronze sellers: 2.5% - 8% depending on category
- Silver sellers: 20% discount on commission rates
- Gold sellers: 35% discount on commission rates
- Shipping fees are separate and paid by the buyer
8. Dispute Resolution
In case of disputes between buyers and sellers:
- Either party can open a dispute through the platform
- Both parties should provide evidence (photos, videos, messages)
- AfreeKart admin will review the case within 24-48 hours
- The admin decision is final and binding

9. Limitation of Liability
AfreeKart provides a platform for buyers and sellers to transact. We are not responsible for:
- The quality, safety, or legality of items listed
- The accuracy of listings or user content
- The ability of sellers to sell items or buyers to pay
- Delays or failures in shipping by third-party couriers
- Losses due to blockchain network issues or smart contract bugs
10. Modifications to Terms
AfreeKart reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
